State Govt Initiates Important DecisionsNov 22, 2004: New & Historic decisions have been initiated by the State Government to streamline the education structure & usher in a vibrant education base. The state has initiated the following measures:
·No new Engineering, MCA,MBA & Pharma colleges. ·Two-thirds vacancies of lecturer and lab assistants to be filled. -Transfer for students in Engineering colleges with less than 10 students. ·Regulatory authority for private and foreign institutions. ·Pratibha scholarship limited to income less than one lakh. ·Rural students to be taught English from class six.
There has been a lot of flak on the state’s education system, depicting them to be not possessing a firm base leading to production of too many students without the required in-built mechanism & skills to tackle real life situations & incidents. However, it remains to be seen whether the words are converted into deeds or just lies on paper as has happened with so many so-called historic decisions of the past.
