e-Learning package’s getting popular in city

Dec 03, 2004: e-Learning package’s seems to be the latest fad to rock the city and the one released by IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National OpenUniversity) seems to have caught the eye of the city’s youth.

IGNOU e-Learning package comprises of e-textbooks, e-lectures/quizzes & mock tests. It aims at internet savvy students of the X-generation & ahead who are in tune with online study & usage. Having made a keen impact in the city, it is all set to get better as each day progresses by.

The e-learning package supplied through a neat CD-ROM & offers students the facility of independent self-study & learning through CD-ROM is interactive & comes with computer-based tutorials.

The university also offers online counselling with live-class facility, prospectus order & e-newsletter. The fee can be paid online through Internet payment gateway for various services offered by the university. Students can also make use of online examination registration facility.

The mock online tests possess testing questions that test the knowledge of the students & also offers the students to effect changes / modifications in answers before submission. An in-built timer or score card exist in the package to monitor each student’s progress.

Dec 06, 2004: Coaching for Civils 2005

One of city’s most well-known colleges St Francis College for Women offers coaching to various students of minority communities appearing for Civil Services (Prelims0 examinations – 2005Coaching will be in language courses such as General Studies, Sociology & Public Administration from January 4,2005.

Interested candidates belonging to Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Parsi & Buddhist communities can submit their applications by December 15 at the college. Further details can be had vide telephonic contact 23413611 / 23403200.

Bloom on Dec 21 & 22

Bloom, the management event of the Institute of Computers & Business Management will be held on December 21 & 22,2004. Around 3,000 students are expected to participate. Formal & informal events would be a part of the event with prizes worth Rs 5 lakhs.

ACSCoaching at Badruka College

One of city’s known colleges Badruka College of Commerce has been chosen as collaboration centre of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India for giving oral coaching classes for Foundation Course of ACS. As a part of the agreement, interested students who seek admission are exempted from appearing and submitting response sheets to obtain eligibility certificate so as to appear for the institute’s examinations held twice a year.

The college will take up students registration.

Badruka College celebrates ‘Splash’ with great fervour

Dec 11, 2004: One of city’s famous colleges Badruka College celebrated with gusto its annual management event ‘Splash’.

The event was marked by high fanfare, with students giving vent to their creative & artistic skills to entertain a goodly crowd. It was a sort of re-union since many older batch students also joined in the celebrations.

Badruka college despite the passage of time remains one of the premier colleges in the city. The aura & reputation as a quality education provider remains intact & it looks all set to venture into a much more better education teaching provider in the days ahead.

U G C Net on December 26, 2004

Dec 20, 2004: U G C Net examination will be held on December 26, 2004 in four centres in the city. The four centres are

· Hindu Maha Vidyalaya, New Nallakunta

· A V College, Domalguda

· University College for Women, Koti

· P G College for Science, Saidabad.

Admissions Cards have been despatched & those who have had not received can contact the office of Principal, College of Science, Osmania University with the passport size photographs attested by a Gazetted Officer.No duplicate admission card will be issuedon the day of the examinations.
