Workshop for school students

A four-hour interactive workshop on Manuscripts for school students will be held at State Archaeological Museum, Public Gardens on October 6. Workshop will focus on production of puppet and theatre shows based on manuscripts that have rich heritage of folk stories.The National Mission for Manuscripts will organize the workshop in Association with Children's Educational Academy, which will be conducted at other districts including Ranga Reddy, Mahabubnagar, Kurnool, Medak, Bhongir, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, and Krishna.

October 9, Hyderabad:The National Film Development Corporation is offering a one-month intensive workshop in digital non-linear editing in Avid Media Composer and Avid Express Pro in October. It is a better opportunity for those interested in video and cinema productionthrough two kinds of video editing- linear and non-linear. While the former involves re-recording multiple tapes onto one or physically cutting and pasting videotape, and the latter involves editing on computer through digital images to rearrange and enhance footage, then record the final product on to a new tape or reel fordistribution. Instructors, professionals will explain and offer requisite knowledge in video editing techniques comprising overlaying images, adding titles, timeline editing, storyboard editing, visual effects, colour correction, re sequencing, throwing light etc. And the fee is Rs. 10,000. Scholarships for women

October 9, Hyderabad:The Department of Science and Technology is inviting applications from the eligible women candidates with science background for scholarships. Selection will be done through a test followed by an interview for the candidates for availing scholarships for training on intellectual property rights, patent searches, understanding patent specification and preparation of technology scan report.Candidates with qualifications of M.Sc/ Ph.D, in physical sciences, chemical sciences, life sciences or BE/ BTech/ MTech/ MBBS/ MS/ MD/ MVSc./ Pharma are eligible and should be acquainted with computers for data surfing, knowledge of Internet for searching of information. UGC Scholarships for SC/ STs

October 9, Hyderabad: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is offering scholarships for the eligible SC/ST students to pursue professional courses.Intended to encourage this socially background community pursue professional courses, the UGC is inviting applications to award scholarships to those who want to pursue Engineering & Technology, Management, Pharmacy etc., Those completed graduation degree in the relevant subject and obtained admissible post graduation degree in a recognized university or college are eligible to avail this facility. Male candidates with age limit of 45 years and women up to 50 years are eligible for the scheme. Candidates pursing M. Tech., will be given Rs. 5,000 per month scholarship and a contingency fund of Rs. 15,000 per year and those pursuing other courses will get Rs. 3,000 per month and Rs 10,000 contingency fund per year.

DOEACC offers global industry relevant education

October 23, Hyderabad : DOEACC an autonomous body of Department ofInformation Technology is offering global industry relevant education courses at four levels O, A, B and C.Aimed at bringing these courses within the reach of all people in areas of IT, electronics and communication technology that will provide them with suitable employment opportunities. Also DOEACC is offering bio-informatics courses at two levels

While Intermediate students are eligible for O level equivalent to foundation course, Degree or Polytechnic holders can take A level - equivalent to advanced diploma in computer applications. B level is equivalent to MCA and C level equivalent to M. Tech degree. Except C level is still to get recognition, the rest are recognized by Ministry of Human Resources Development. A fee of Rs 300 is to be paid towards registration and the aspirants have to apply separately for examinations to be held in January and July. Applications, which can be obtained from DOEACC headquarters, New Delhi or from its counseling centres and specified centres should be submitted till October 31 and with a late fee till November 10. Courses for tool design with CAD

October 30, Hyderabad: Hyderabad based Central Institute of Tool Design is offering specially designedtailor-made courses for professionals and students in the following streams - design, product development, methods and maintenance, automation and mechatronics. Applications are being invited for admission to its evening training courses for 2007 for a two year diploma in tool engineering and a one year post diploma in tool design. A pass in two-year ITI or Intermediate MPC group with 3 year mechanical engineering workshop experience is eligible for two year course, whilea pass LME/ DME or its equivalent for one year course.

The fee for industry sponsored seats of 50 is Rs. 33,000 payable in two installments and for self sponsored seats of 10 it is Rs. 20,000.
