Announces Admissions:
P.G. Diploma in Industrial Engineering and Fellow Programme
The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) invites applications for its two year Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) 34th Batch (2004-2006) and Fellow (DOCTORAL) Programme (FP).
Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE)
NITIE has an unique PG programme in Industrial Engineering. The industrial Engineer today is a resource as well as a Technology Management expert for both manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors. The course covers subjects including Supply Chain Management, Six Sigma, Operations, Logistics, BPR, ERP and Software Engineering.
Eligibility: First Class Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch with minimum of 85 percentile in GATE. GATE qualifiers get GOI Teaching Assistantship, Admission is based on group discussion and interview with appropriate weightage given to GATE score. Reservation for SC/ST & Handicapped candidates is as per govt. rules. Selection for Industry Sponsored candidates with First Class Degree in Engineering/Technology (with 2 years industry experience) is through personal interview only-no GATE score is required.
Fellow (Doctoral) Programme (FP)
Eligibility: First Class Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Business Management/Commerce/Social Sciences/Humanities (Full time Course). Selection will be on the basis of Academic Qualification and Experience. Seminar presentation on selected area of Research and Interview. Direct candidates will get GOI Scholarship as per rules. External candidate has to stay in the campus for a continuous period of one year for course work. For Industry sponsored candidates, minimum of two years working experience at Executive level is required.
Areas: Organisational Behaviour, Marketing, BPR, TOM, Personnel Management, economics, Reliability Management, Economic, Operations Research, Information Technology, Production Management, Finance & Accounting and Environmental Management.
Fulfilment of minimum qualification qualifications is not an automatic claim for Group Discussion and interview.

Brochure & Application Forms for PGDIE/FP can be obtained from Assistant Registrar (Academic), NITIE, Vihar Lake, PO NITIE, Mumbai-400087 enclosing four self addressed stickers and a DD for Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in case of SC/ST candidates with caste certificate) drawn in favour of “NITIE MUMBAI” Filled up.
Online application forms are to be sent along with DD & four self addressed stickers.
Issue of brochure application forms: 1 March 2004 onwards.
