Deaprtment of Atomic Energy(DAE)
then read on,
BARC Training School and its affiliates will shortly be inviting applications for admission to their OCES/DGFS-2007 programmes.
To be eligible for consideration for above mentioned programmes leading to recruitment in DAE Engineering graduates need to submit
GATE-2006 or GATE-2007 SCORE.
TAKE GATE - 2007 TO QUALIFY
For science post-graduates
GATE SCORE IS OPTIONAL:
* Science disciplines candidates who do not intend to be considered on the basis of GATE-2006/GATE-2007 score will have to appear for a Written Test to be held on February 25, 2007. A science candidate who has valid GATE Score and also appears in the Written Test will be eligible for consideration through both the channels viz by Written Test or by GATE Score.
Every year DAE selects scientists and engineers who are appointed as Scientific Officers on successful completion of one of its following two programmes:
OCES: One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post-Graduates at
* BARC Training School, Mumbai,
and its affiliates listed below:
* RRCAT Training School, Indore.
* NFC-HWB Training School, Hyderabad.
* NPCIL Training Centres, Kaiga, Kalpakkkam, Kudankulam, Rawatbhata and Tarapur.
* IGCAR Training School, Kalpakkam.
Successful completion of course work entitles traines to Post-Graduate Diploma of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University. This could earn them credits towards MTech/MPhil/PhD of HBNI provided their performance is above a specified threshold.
DGFS: Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Post-Graduates in Physics for joining MTech in specific specializations at Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee.
DGFS Fellows will get opportunity to pursue PhD through HBNI.
The staff so inducted pursues programmes in (1) design, construction and Operation of Nuclear Reactors and Associated Fuel Cycle Facilities (2) R&D in engineering developments in Nuclear Science & Technology, and (3) front ranking basic rsearch in Physics, Chemistry and Biosciences.

BE/BTech: Mechanical, Chemical Metallurgical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Instrumentation, Civil and Engineering Physics.
MSc: Physics, Electronics, Chemistry and Biosciences.
