The Institute invites applications from candidates who can produce documentary evidence of financial support from CSIR/UGC/ICMR etc. or provide declaration for self financing on or before 2nd January, 2003 for admission to Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology & Toxicology, & Bulk Drug), Candidates qualified in GATE may also apply in the Departments of Natural Products, Pharmaceutics and Biotechnology against available funded projects. Reservation for other categories is available as per existing Govt. of India rules and regulations. General Eligibility Criteria The candidate should have passed the respective masters examinations with minimum 60% marks in aggregates wherever marks are awarded or GPA of 6.75 on a 10 point scale wherever letter grades are awarded or equivalent as determined by the Board of Studies & Research, NIPER. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category 55% of marks or GPA of 6.25 on a 10 point scale are the eligibility criteria. Passing GATE/NET examination is an essential qualification for all candidates. The information brochure and application form can be obtained from Section Officer (Exam.) by sending a self addressed envelop after affixing stamps worth Rs.52/-. The candidates must send duly filled application form along with a fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates) by crossed bank draft on any bank payable at S.A.S Nagar/Chandigarh in favour of Director, NIPER. Indian nationals residing abroad and foreign nationals have to remit US $ 110 by International money order payable to “Director NIPER” (S.A.S. Nagar, India). Candidates desirous of applying to more than one department should procure and submit separate application from along with requisite D.D.No. TA/DA will be paid. Candidates have to make their own arrangements for test/interview. The last date for receipt of completed application is 9th December, 2002.
