India will need 300,000 professionals in the field of content development and computer animation by 2008. As against this astronomical requirement, the Indian digital content development industry employed only 27,000 professionals in 2001: Nasscom
Animation
The rich tapestry of India – culture, society, folklore and commercial competitiveness is increasingly being expressed through digital animation for film, video and television. Animation (2d or 3d) is the creation of moving illustrations that help users visualize a process, idea or abstract concept in a way that is not easily communicated through words or single picture. Animation may be the only affordable way to show something close to reality.

CEDTI (Mohali), an ISO 9002 certified premier institute for training manpower, has established the required infrastructure for training, identifying and promoting potential entrepreneurs and also providing a platform for already working professionals to hire equipments and services.
The applications where CEDTI can play active role are unlimited as they range from more commonly known fields of education and training, entertainment, film animation, business and corporate presentations and tourism to social applications in agriculture, health, information kiosks, digital libraries, etc. and specific subjects/objects, events, family functions etc.
CEDTI (Mohali) has already setup Multimedia Entrepreneurship Development Centre under National Information Infrastructure (MCIT) and training programmes on low cost multimedia content creations are already on.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may obtain the detailed prospectus for Post Graduate Diploma in Animation & Multimedia/Advanced Course on Computer Graphics & Animation by sending a DD of Rs.150, favouring Director, CEDTI Mohali. For the other courses, application on a plain paper mentioning Name, Mailing address, Educational qualifications, Practical experience, Course applied for and a demand draft for the applicable fees drawn in favour of “The Director, CEDTI” payable at Mohali alongwith attested copies of educational certificates may be sent to Director, CEDTI at A-34, VIII, Indl. Area, Mohali-160059 (Punjab). Request for hostel should be indicated in the application. Course fees once deposited will not be refunded. The fees can be paid in instalments also.
